Saving money on entertainment

Having a good time is something that is tough to put a price tag on - unfortunately, corporate America has gotten very good at it! Entertainment costs money nowadays - at least, it does for most Americans. Two examples are movies and concerts.

You might not think about it, but going to a movie is a big expense! There is popcorn to buy, soda to buy, candy if you want it and then two tickets that are costing more and more every year! True, going out to see a movie is cool because of the big screen and the fancy theater, and it is not something that you should stop doing if you enjoy it - but you could rent a movie for watching at home, buy popcorn and soda for probably a fourth of the price at the grocery store, and get relatively the same experience for a fraction of the cost!

This might seem boring, but actually, there are a lot of people who put money into their TV entertainment system, but they then go right out and watch movies at the theater! Use your TV. Especially if it is a nice one!

Another thing that is getting expensive are concert tickets. It is not unusual to pay $40 or more per ticket to see famous bands or musician perform. Now, it might be your favorite band and as I said before, if it is worth the money to you, you should not stop seeing concerts like this but there are a lot of cheaper concerts out there that people just don’t go see because they have never been to one before! There are often a ton of fantastic local bands that put on shows that are even free! They just want to share their music, and having you just show up would be a treat to them!
